A pregnant woman Aisha Aliyu of Bachirawa quarters in Ungoggo local government area of Kano state was murdered by yet to be identified persons on Wednesday.
Late Aisha, 19, was found dead in a pool of her blood in her home, her husband Sani Abdullahi told police at Bachirawa police division. The Kano state police command spokesman, DSP Magaji Musa Majia confirmed that the deceased was murdered. He said: “Aisha’s throat was slit by her killers. Her husband reported the case to our division in Bachirawa and said she was killed around 8 pm.” DSP Majia said investigation had commenced into the case and that the commissioner of police had directed the Division Police Officer in-charge of the area to effect arrests until he fishes out the killers. He said police will also invite the neighbours of the deceased for questioning. “It is questionable to slaughter a woman in a densely populated area like Bachirawa and at such hours without hearing anything by her neighbors,” he concluded.
