Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya
Bello, on Monday commissioned the Kogi State Geographic Information System
(KOGIS) to sanitise the process of land acquisition within the state.
Senior Special Assistant to
the Governor on New Media, Mr Odaudu Joel, in a statement, said multiple
attempts have been made at sanitising the land acquisition business in Kogi
State in the past years but nothing meaningful had come of it until recently.
According to him, “the establishment
of KOGIS becomes paramount in order to put an end to land racketeering and
other challenges that usually make land acquisition a sordid affair in Kogi
State.
The system, aside from making
the land acquisition process in Kogi State an easy and straightforward affair,
will boost revenue generation in the state considerably.
