Katsina PDP asks Atiku to return to party


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State yesterday made a Save-Our-Soul (S.O.S) call to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to rejoin the political grouping for its rebirth.
This is just as his posters flooded PDP’s headquarters and other structures and locations in the state capital, where party supporters gathered to make the S.O.S call.
The call was made through the PDP Concerned Elders Consultative Forum, and contained in a press statement, signed by its chairman, Hussaini Dambo.

According to the statement, Atiku had made “indelible contributions to the foundation and development of the PDP,” and that his comeback would help in the “current struggle to wriggle back mainstream political power” in the country.
It said the “history of defences to the struggle to sustain democracy” in the country cannot be written without mention of Atiku’s contributions, as he was in the frontline against those that were out to truncate sustainable democracy in the body politick.
It expressed confidence that Nigerians would want to continue to receive the “benefits from his versatile political experiences, his political humility amidst persistence,” and “his industrial prowess beneficial to millions.”
The statement added: “We the members of this forum, together with our delegates and millions of supporters wish to present this S.O.S call to Atiku Abubakar to return to the PDP without further ado.

“We pray that he heeds to our call and we seek the credible indulgence of the PDP to receive him with open arms in order to ensure a successful rebirth of the party.”
