Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) on Thursday released Time table for Local Government Election in the state .
The newly appointed Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Garba Ibrahim Sheka announced this while speaking to Journalists at the Commission’s headquarters in Kano.
Prof. Garba Ibrahim Sheka said the councils election is scheduled to hold on 10th February 2018 as sensitization visit to the 44 local government areas and publicity campaigns begins on 13th of Nov. to 25th of December. While distribution of electoral guidelines and notification of polling centers takes effect from 17thNovember to 1st December.
The Commission Chairman said the sale of nomination form starts from 1st to 22nd Dec. as submission of all completed form should be done on or before 27thDecember.
Prof. Garba Ibrahim Sheka noted that a level playing field will be accorded all the political parties to ensure free, fair and acceptable local councils election.
