Al-Makura
NASARAWA State Governor Umaru Al-Makura has sworn in three Special Advisers at an expanded State Executive Council meeting in Lafia.
Al-Makura said the exercise was to fulfill the constitutional requirements that allowed the governor to appoint a certain number of special advisers.
He said the appointment of the advisers: Alhaji Hamza Elayo, Mallam Mohammed Aliyu and Mallam Sani Suleiman; was based on their capacity to offer essential services for the development of the state.
“I am very happy that they have agreed to join us to ensure that we take Nasarawa State to greater heights,” he said.
The governor, who also presided over the meeting, said the meeting was meant to recap on the activities of government in the year 2015.
He added that the meeting would also have an outlook on government programmes in 2016.
Al-Makura explained that the meeting deliberated on the 2016 budget, which would be due for presentation to the state House of Assembly on Thursday.
He cautioned people of the state against acts capable of causing chaos and assured of government commitment to ensure that lawbreakers did not go scot-free.
The swearing-in brings the number of special advisers to the governor to 16, having sworn-in 13 earlier.
