North-east Got N100m From PDP, Not Dasuki – Amb. Abdullahi

A former Minister of education, Ambassador Yerima Abdullahi, has officially denied reported speculation that he collected 100m from the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki or Alhaji Bashir Yuguda, the former Minister of State Finance.


Ambassador Abdullahi in a reaction while addressing journalist in Kaduna yesterday confirmed that he was the zonal coordinator of the PDP for the North East Geo-political zone, and as part of its strategy to mobilize party members in the preparations towards the 2015 elections, the National Secretariat of the party set up contact and mobilization committees across the six geo political zones in which he was appointed the chairman for the zone.

According to him, at the instance of the party leadership sometimes in February 2015, the North East caucus of the party comprising 3 members from each state of the zone was allocated funds totaling One hundred Million Naira as logistics for mobilization and reconciliation purpose. This was necessitated by the crisis that engulfed the party in many states that threatened its electoral successes. The funds were thereafter proportionately shared to its stakeholders from the zonal, states, senatorial districts down to the ward levels of the party in the North East for the above stated purpose. A meeting of all the stakeholders was duly convened where the money was distributed and he is in possession of all the records, a copy of which was duly forwarded to the National secretariat of the party.
