Belarus to establish tractor showroom in Katsina

Republic of Belarus is to establish a tractor showroom in Katsina State. To this end, the country has requested the state government to allocate her with land to commence process for establishing the showroom.

Ambassador of Belarus, Mr. Vicheslar Vasileric stated this yesterday shortly before displaying some of the tractors and their accessories to Governor Aminu Bello Masari at the Government House.

Vasileric said the Belarus model tractors were popular in African countries like Egypt, Angola, Mozambique and South Africa.

He said in Egypt alone, the Belarus-type tractor has been in use for over 30 years. He said his country was ready to provide complex solutions to agriculture as well as provide manpower training for people in the state.

The Ambassador said Belarus with a population of 9.5 million, is 100 per cent food secured, andthat she accounts for eight per cent of milk produced in the world along four per cent of cheese produced globally.

Responding, Governor Masari expressed the state’s readiness to coop- …commissions 500 civilian JTF, vigilantes to compliment soldiers erate with any country or organisation that would help move agricultural production forward in the state.

He said with the realities on ground, the state had no other optionthan to return to agriculture for needed development.

He said government plans to establish a green economic zone to export the huge potentials of the
state to neighbouring African countries.
