The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) yesterday sealed three houses purportedly belonging to former governor of Katsina State Ibrahim Shema. Daily Trust reports that the three houses are located at Madoji Road in the GRA, at Madachi Road in Barhim Housing Estate and at Kirni Road in Makera Estate along Daura Road, all in the state capital metropolis. It was learnt that the officials of the commission stormed the houses and marked them in red paint, ‘EFCC under invest. ’The marked houses immediately became beehives for sightseers as people trooped in to catch a glimpse of them.Shema who was declared wanted by the EFCC, turned himself in accusing the state governor Aminu Masari of masterminding development. Masari had severally vowed to ensure all monies allegedly stolen by his predecessor amounting to about N76 billion was returned to the state coffers. In his remarks over the development, Shema’s media aide Oluwabusola Olawale said the EFCC should ‘shelve the political and media trial of Shema’ and ensure justice and equity in the case.
