Kano state Head of Service (HoS), Alhaji Auwal Muhammad Naiya, has said that the Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje administration had no intention to sack civil servants as was being rumoured. Addressing the newly elected executive membersof the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists who paid him a courtesy visit in his office yesterday, described the rumour as “baseless and unfounded,” affirming that the issue of sacking workers was never discussed. He said there was no iota of truth in the bandied rumour that the Ganduje administration was planning to effect a massive purge in the civil service of the state, adding that government had fulfilled its promise earlier made that workers salaries would be paid before the Eid el-Kabir.
He also debunked the allegation that a table payment would be carried out for local government workers and that of SUBEB as erroneously postulated by mischief makers, who were saddened by Ganduje’s spectacular achievements. On his part, the newly elected chairman of the Association of the Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria, Kano state chapter, Malam Lawal Garba Fagge, said the purpose of their visit was to table their request for the creation of Medical Laboratory Scientists Department in the Hospital Management Board in line with global best practices.
