Photos: FEC approves N700m for secretariats in 6 states




The Federal Executive Council (FEC) met yesterday and approved N700m for the completion of abandoned federal secretariats in Zamfara, Nasarawa, Gombe, Osun, Bayelsa and Anambra States.
The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, told State House correspondents that the projects had been stalled since 2012.
He noted that the fund for the completion of the projects was allocated in the 2016 Appropriation Act.

Fashola, who said the projects were at various stages of completion, added that there had been changes in cost as a result of project designs, amendment, cases where original location and contract were changed but to be redesigned in such structure.
According to the minister, when completed, the projects will provide office accommodation for federal workers posted to the six states.
Fashola also stated that the FEC approved the completion of the abandoned Katsina 10 megawatts wind farm power project which he described as part of the government’s strategic plan for renewable energy.
The Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika, said the FEC approved an outline business case for industrial port development in Badagry, Lagos State.
Sirika said the relocation of a simulator from Lagos to the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, for the training of pilots and engineers was also approved.
