Troops nab Boko Haram drugs, fuel suppliers

Troops on patrol have arrested two suspected terrorists in Borno on Sunday who supplied Boko Haram with drugs, logistics and fuel.
In a statement on Sunday, the Army Spokesman, Col. Sani Usman, named the drugs’ supplier as Kadiri Umate, 35 and the fuel supplier as Fantoma Lasani.
He said that Umate was nabbed at Firgi and Zawan axis in Bama Local Governmnet Area of Borno, a suspected Boko Haram terrorists’ crossing point while trying to cross into Sambisa forest.
“The patrol team recovered 35 packets of 500ml of Glucose Intravenous infusion (Drip), assorted analgesics and pain killer drugs, clothes, bathroom slippers, insecticides, salt, kolanuts and a bicycle.
“The suspect is undergoing preliminary investigations,” Usman said.

He explained that Lasani was arrested by troops in conjunction with Civilian JTF at Muna garage when he came to pick his wife to “finally relocate out of Maiduguri.”
“The suspect, who hailed from Flatari village, Bama Local Government Area, is among some unpatriotic elements in the society that had been supplying Boko Haram terrorists with Premium Motor Spirit and Automative Gas Oil in Bama, Gwoza and Sambisa general area,” Usman said.
