Governor Al-Makura’s fact-finding committee chair shuns inauguration

Chairman of the fact-finding and investigative committee on the activities of Nasarawa state polytechnic, Mrs Fati Sabo yesterday shunned the inauguration ceremony by Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura at the Government House.

Mrs Sabo who is the deputy registrar of the federal polytechnic Nasarawa was conspicuously absent and was not represented by anybody on the committee during the inauguration ceremony.

Governor Almakura had last week sacked the Rector, Registrar and Bursar of the state polytechnic and approved the constitution of a panel to investigate the activities of the three state owned tertiary institutions. 

They include, Collage of Agriculture, Lafia, Collage of Education, Akwanga and the State Polytechnic. 

Inaugurating the three committees, Governor Almakura who charged them to work fast and submit their report within 30 days said his government is currently investigating public servants in the state and those found wanting would be prosecuted.

The two committee chairmen present were that of Colleges of Agriculture, Lafia and Education, Akwanga; Messrs Thomas Ogiri and Umar Muhammed Sani who pledged to work within the terms of reference of the committees.
