GOVERNOR NASIR EL-RUFAI
Parks
and recreational centers, including Gamji Gate Park, the Amusement
Park, and other related places will not be open during the Sallah
celebration, the Kaduna State government said.
The state government in a statement after a meeting of the state security council said the Murtala Muhammad Square will be open for Eid prayers, and nothing more.
The council appealed to citizens of the state for increased vigilance, urging them to report any suspicious person or group engaging in unusual activities.
“The Council noted that soft targets have been attacked in several states, including ours. Government is therefore obliged to take actions to protect citizens and increase security activity. Therefore, enhanced security measures will be put in places of worship, including prayer grounds. Government regrets any inconvenience that may arise from such restrictions and security activity,” it stated.
