Kano declares Wednesday public holiday

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje; Photo: DailyPostThe Governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje, has approved Wednesday, October 14, as public holiday in commemoration of the New Islamic Year 1437AH.
In a press release signed by his spokesperson, Baba Dantiye, the governor congratulated the people of Kano and all the Muslim Umma for witnessing the New Year.

He also used the period to condole with the families of those who lost their lives in the two incidences in Saudi Arabia which led to the deaths of so many people and prayed for the quick recovery of those that sustained injuries.
He also appealed to the people to use the public holiday in offering prayers, to the Almighty Allah for peace and prosperity in Kano state and the country as a whole.
He then reassured the people that the state government will continue to work hard towards improving the living standard of the people especially by according education both Islamic and Western they priority they deserve.
