Samira Sanusi Sickle Cell Foundation is a volunteer based NGO committed to supporting Sickle Cell warriors in Nigeria through provision of management and treatment of Sickle Cell complications, as well as enlightening citizens about the disease, and most importantly, making informed decisions to avoid the spread of Sickle Cell births.
The foundation will be celebrating its 3rd year anniversary and hosting its 1st fundraiser on the 6th of May 2017. Through the of use art – live performance poetry, the event will highlight topics on genotype and genetic compatibility, stigma, Sickle Cell related complications etc. We will also be auctioning paintings, artworks, and products from entrepreneurs and brands supporting the cause at the event. Please bring your cards, cash and cheque books, proceeds will be used to support Sickle Cell Warriors and the fight against Sickle Cell Anaemia.
Our goal is to be able to fund at least 5 surgeries and to intensify awareness on the importance of genotype and genetic compatibility, advocacy and appeal for standard health care and health information access, particularly in rural communities.
