Niger State and the home of some of the past military heads of state of the
country, the town is fast becoming popular among the members of the literary
community as a breeding ground for the future generation of prose stylists,
poets and playwrights.
Many of the teenagers, who Nigerians expect to
carry on the tradition of literary excellence, are already published authors
and their books were on display at the recent International Convention of the
Association of Nigerian Authors held in Abuja.
