Kebbi state water works project to be completed in 18 months

The expansion of Dukku water works project in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State capital has gulped N900 million.
According to the Chairman, Due Process Office, Alhaji Muhammed Sirajo Garba, the project would provide adequate safe drinking water for Birnin Kebbi and its environs and it is expected to be completed within the duration of one year and six months.

He made this known to journalists during the inspection of iron pipes that were brought from China for the commencement of the water project at Dukku water works in Birnin Kebbi, yesterday.
He said “we are witnessing the arrival of the pipes from China in 15 trucks. The company has a standard of ensuring that whatever is coming must come from their company in China to facilitate quick delivery of the job”.
He promised that his office would ensure that the work is carried out according to the laid down agreement and specification.
It would be recalled that the Kebbi State government awarded the water project contract three months ago to a Chinese engineering firm, China Zhorghan, to rehabilitate the Birnin Kebbi water works which is the main source of water for the state capital and its environs.
