Nasarawa State Governor, Al-makura Calls for International Collaboration To Boost Economy


The Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-Makura has called for international collaboration to improve the economy of the state and to better the lots of the people.
The governor made this call when he hosted ambassadors of Scandinavian countries comprising Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark at the government house in Lafia.

He believes that a partnership with the foreign countries will open a vista of development for the state and scale up its revenue base.
“It is for this reason that I would like to open a new vista for a relationship in the field of agriculture, health, education, real estate between Nasarawa state and these countries
“As a matter of fact, we will be highly interested in collaboration and support from these countries. We are trying to package what we call the comprehensive special school, one of the largest in the whole of this country that is supposed to take care of people living with disabilities,” he said.
Al-makura also called for collaboration to improve education in the state, especially in adding value to special education and teaching children with disability.
“We have built the school and we are in the process of furnishing it for take-off in January and we are inviting the northern countries to come and collaborate with us with a view to adding value to special education especially as it relates to children with disabilities in the form of visual disability, hearing disability, physical disability, and hearing disability.”
