Jigawa State ​Governor Badaru Commissioned Jifatu 500 Million Naira Food Processing Company 


Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has restates his administration’s confidence to create enabling environment for investors to invest in the state.

The governor stated his commitment when he commissioned a five hundred million naira food processing company worth of investment owned by Jifatu companies in Dutse. 

Governor Badaru said the commissioning of the food processing company is a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to woo investors into the state with a view to creating employment and boost the economic activities of the state.

He said revenues from the oil sector is declining everyday, hence the need to develop alternative sources of revenue that is sustainable.

The governor maintained that with food processing companies like this coming on board, the state will maximize its agricultural potentials and farmers will have a readily available market.

Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar explained that a three hundred and eighty tons capacity rice mill is almost completed in Gujungu Town in Taura Local Government, while other investors have commenced work to establish other industries in the state.

The governor who quoted a report saying Jigawa State is the third producer of rice in 2016, said the state will be the highest in this year.

In his welcome address, the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Alhaji Kabiru Ali said the best way to develop the economy is to support small and medium enterprises.

In a vote of thanks, the Chairman Jifatu Group of Companies Alhaji Sabitu Yahaya commended Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar for creating an enabling environment to invest.

He called on governments at all levels to invest in the youths through instilling in them patriotism.

Alhaji Sabitu said the company which will process wheat, maize, flour, cassava, millet and guinea corn will provide 122 direct jobs and has the capacity to process thirty five tons per day in the initial stage of production.
