The Kaduna State Security Council has directed security agencies to the arrest and prosecute anyone violating the law under any guise. The council specifically warned members of the unregistered ULC to desist from compelling fuel stations to close shop.
At its meeting today, the Security Council received reports of members of the ULC going around Kaduna to create conditions of hardship for residents. This is totally unacceptable.
The government will not allow anyone to cause chaos in the state, under any guise including that of trade union activity. Owners and operators of fuel stations have a duty to disregard illegal orders, and an obligation to fulfill their duty of service to the public, while reporting any attempt to obstruct their business to the appropriate authorities.
Government expects all filling stations to open, sell fuel and ease the hardship been needlessly imposed on citizens.
