The Kano State Government has launched a biometric time and attendance machine for monitoring workers punctuality in their various places of work.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer in the office of the state Head of Service, Alhaji Mustapha Fagge,
According to the statement, made available to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano monrday, the machine was introduced to also check lateness and absenteeism among civil servants in the state.
While performing the official test-run of the machine in his office, the Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad Naiya, expressed the state government’s serious concern over workers’ nonchalant attitude to work, the statement said. “This is what informed the decision of the state government to establish ‘Servicom,” the statement said.
It added that the installation of the machine was the first of its kind in the history of the state and appealed to civil servants to imbibe the culture of reporting to work at the stipulated time and close as scheduled.
It also appealed to workers to continue to exhibit the spirit of good conduct and dedication to duty to enable them to excel in their respective careers.
