As the nationwide Strike embarked by the Resident Doctors continue across the country and for the concern and passion he has for the health sector, the Governor of Jigawa State Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has this night paid and unscheduled visits to General Hospital Dutse and Rashid Shekoni Specialist Hospital.
The Governor was in company of the Deputy Governor Barr. Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia and the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Health, Dr. Kainuwa.
While at the General Hospital Dutse, the Governor was taken round the hospital by the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital and visited the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Unit, Pharmacy, Male & Female Wards, Paediatrics Unit, Labour Ward, Theater and laboratory and also inspected the under construction new laboratory.
At Rashid Shekoni Specialist Hospital, the Governor also met the CMD and the visited A&E Unit, Paediatrics, Laboratory, X-ray and Scanning Unit, Male and Female Wards, Theater and Dialysis Section.
Speaking during the visit at Rashid Shekoni Specialist Hospital while interacting with the Hospital Consultants and other non-striking workers, Governor Badaru pledge to address all health related problems in Jigawa State head on and also charged the workers to be devoted to their work for the development of health sector in the state.
Governor Badaru also promised to provide the Hospital with another Dialysis Machine.
Governor Badaru also assured that his administration will collaborate with all the relevant agencies for the attainment of health standard in the state, and promised total overhauling of health sector sooner than later.
